A5x

PTMP Access Point

Cost-Effectively Expand Your PTMP Network

Compact and powerful, the A5x is built for short to long-range pole and tower point-to-multipoint (PTMP) applications. In situations where the power and range of the 4x4 A5c access point isn't needed, the connectorized, 2x2 A5x is the perfect solution.

AFFORDABILITY

PTMP at a Fraction of the Cost

Finding the right access points that offer affordability, without compromising quality and performance, has been a dilemma. The A5x changes that. It's the ideal solution whether you're starting a new network or expanding coverage, all while achieving faster ROI.

PERFORMANCE

It's Fast

Breaking the barriers to entry, the A5x is a connectorized, 2x2 access point that delivers fiber-like speeds of up to 700 Mbps (IP).

INTERFERENCE

Get Around the Noise

With new spectrum becoming available in both 4.9 and 6 GHz, the wide frequency of the A5x (4.9–6.4 GHz with the ROW product) will allow affordable access to more low-noise spectrum for increased speeds and reliability—especially paired with SRS (GPS sync) for channel reuse.

DESIGN

Ultra-Rugged

The A5x, with its die-cast aluminum metal backing, is designed and built to withstand the harshest outdoor elements.

ANTENNAS

Recommended High-Performance Antenna

While almost any 2x2 3rd party antenna will work with the A5x, the Mimosa N5-45x2 comes most recommended. Get all the ground coverage of a sector, along with the sidelobe rejection of a horn.

FAQ

What frequencies does the A5x support?

The A5x supports 5150–5850 MHz in the U.S. (FCC), Europe (ETSI), and Canada (CA). For rest of world (ROW), the A5x supports 4900–6400 MHz.

How do I get an A5x?

Pre-order today by clicking here or simply contact your closest reseller or distributor.

What antennas does the A5x work with?

The connectorized A5x works with most 2x2 3rd party antennas, as well as Mimosa's N5-45x2 sector.

Can beamforming be achieved with the A5x?

Due to the fact that the A5x is a 2x2 access point, beamforming is not a feature. Anyone interested in beamforming should look into the 4x4 A5c.

Why should I choose an A5x over an A5c?

The A5x has a cost advantage over the A5c, making it easier to expand or start a new network, and get quicker ROI. If the 4x4, beamforming power of the A5c isn't necessary, the A5x is a great solution.

How far will the A5x reach?

The A5x is a short to long-range access point. Many environmental factors, including the antenna being used, go into calculating link distance, which is different for every operator. The Network Design Tool, can help provide a better picture—it’s free and very easy to model a PTMP link: https://mimosa.co/design-tool

What client radios (CPE's) work best with the A5x?

The modular C5x and connectorized C5c work best with the A5x access point to take advantage of SRS (GPS sync).

Can the A5x work without an antenna?

It is not recommended to use an A5x without an antenna.
