PTP Backhaul

Extreme Speed and Flexibility

The Mimosa B5x is one of the industry’s fastest unlicensed, point-to-point (PTP), backhaul solutions. It’s ideal for short to medium range relay and tower links, custom-engineered collocation, and licensed 4.9 GHz spectrum. It’s modular, with the ability to connect N5-X compatible twist-on antennas (12 dBi horn, 16 dBi horn, 20 dBi dish, 25 dBi dish).

Product

Integrated Radio with Modular Antenna Options

The B5x’s native 8 dBi gain can be increased to 12, 16, 20, or 25 dBi using Mimosa’s modular N5-X twist-on antennas, offering the ease and simplicity of integrated radios, but with so much more flexibility.

Suits the Needs for Many Deployments

As one of the highest capacity, unlicensed PTP solutions in the industry, it delivers up to 1.5 Gbps (IP). 160 MHz of aggregate channel capacity and GPS Sync mode provide added performance. Coupled with a rugged IP67 rating and modular twist-on antennas, it's extremely flexible.

FAQ

Can the B5x base radio at 8 dBi be used without an antenna?

Yes. You can use the base B5x 8 dBi radio without an antenna for short distance links. Please remove the locking screw from the twist-on screws to serve as a drain hole.

What distances are supported for B5x links?

This depends on the antenna size and regulatory power settings. The B5x and all the N5-X antenna options are available in Mimosa’s Network Design Tool (NDT). It’s free and very easy to model a PTP link, give it a try at: https://design.mimosa.co/designtool/ndt
