Today Mimosa is proud to announce the general availability of software release 2.4, with exciting features that enable rapid network deployment and reduce installation and operating costs in last-mile multipoint wireless broadband networks.

Worldwide, our wireless ISP (WISP) and telco customers are rapidly expanding their services on rural towers and in suburban MicroPoP areas, and steadily upgrading their existing broadband networks to deliver up to 100 Mbps service.

To keep pace with these rapidly scaling deployments, our 2.4 release, together with the Mimosa Install App, now dramatically reduces subscriber installation time, automates device provisioning and allows seamless device integration into an ISP network. Rich monitoring and maintenance capabilities help service providers maintain high reliability subscriber service.

The new auto-provisioning features address the stringent demands of our service provider customers dealing with large volumes of service and upgrade requests. A new C5 client device can now be unboxed, aimed, connected and provisioned in less than 10 minutes, including a firmware update, giving each installer the ability to add more subscribers per day. At the same time, new features offer a fully customizable provisioning experience to automate device and subscriber service attributes.

Our WISP customers will love the addition of VLAN support, enabling them to use VLANs to segment subscriber traffic and use subscriber management systems that use VLANs to provide Quality of Service and meet SLA commitments. And to top it off, we’ve made big performance improvements with subscriber scaling and interference rejection, delivering a much smoother and faster user experience.

• C5 Ethernet port authorization to enable authentication of end points (hosts) in subscriber premises
