Mimosa Gives Back(packs)

By Justin Mounts

To celebrate the start of the new school year, Mimosa will be donating more than 100 fully-stocked backpacks for children at Christopher Elementary School, located in East San Jose. Because many of these students do not have the necessary supplies to do their homework, we decided to focus our charity outreach in our own backyard – not only is the campus within 10 miles of Mimosa HQ, but one of our employee’s spouses is also a teacher. Each backpack is loaded with school essentials and a hand-written, personalized letter to the student.

Our Santa Clara employees gathered to assemble the backpacks on Wednesday, August 23. This campaign is the latest effort by Mimosa employees to give back to our communities – over the past year, Mimosa collected donations to support Toys for Tots, and orchestrated a “Making a Difference" letter writing campaign and fundraise for US troops, and several Islamic Cultural Centers.

Mimosa counts #bekind as one of its core values. We are so proud of the generosity and willingness of our employees to continually reflect these values not only to each other, but out into our communities as well!
